Team World Vision will be hosting the world’s largest 6K Walk for Water in Richmond Hill. With over 500 participants from the GTA in attendance and over $50,000 raised nationally, this run will be full of energy and participants determined to make a difference no matter what their age, ability or personal circumstances.

Syrian refugees move to Azraq
The opening of a new refugee camp in Jordan marks a sad but significant milestone in the Syrian refugee crisis, according to the international humanitarian aid agency World Vision. The camp, which is located near the community of Azraq about 100 km east of Amman, has been under construction for several months and has the capacity to host 130,000 people.

Protecting education from attack
Members of the Canadian International Education Policy Working Group (CIEPWG) and the International Child Protection Network of Canada (ICPNC), wrote to commend the Government of Canada for taking a strong stand against attacks on education by endorsing the Safe Schools Declaration, as well as for endorsing and implementing the Guidelines for Protecting Schools and Universities from Military Use during Armed Conflict.

The Courage Polar Bear Dip for World Vision, the biggest and longest-running charity dip in Canada, returns on New Year's Day 2017. To celebrate the first day of "Canada 150", nearly 1,000 dippers have set a fundraising goal of $150,000 for clean water projects in Africa.

A new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ achievement by World Vision
World Vision is pleased to be welcomed into the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS family after successfully becoming the record holder for the Longest line of candy canes. Measuring 1,047 metres, 7,335 candy canes were formed in lines and featured a giant heart, with the help of students from Hamilton District Christian High School.
